The world’s most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data. Trace Labs developed the open-source infrastructure for decentralized data marketplaces that encourage fair data exchange in supply chains. Inclusive data marketplaces are the foundation for sustainable supply chains, for equitable distribution of gains along the supply chains and for the digital sovereignty of citizens and organizations.
Within the Food Data Market project for the LEDGER program, Trace Labs developed the open-source software infrastructure that can be applied to data exchange in any industry. Based on this infrastructure, Trace Labs is building applications for different industries. Anyone can build a data marketplace app, based on the freely available resources on the links below.
In the pilot project for the LEDGER program, Perutnina Ptuj, a leading poultry manufacturer in South East Europe, installed Kakaxi IoT devices to gather sensor information and images from their partner farms. By purchasing this data, retailers that sell Perutnina’s products under their private labels can ensure their consumers that they are supporting the highest animal welfare standards in their supply chain.
